Ask an Atheist

We have an "Ask a Mormon thread, I thought why not one for asking atheists questions?

My first question: How do you live your life and think about death without religion?

Religion is a contrivance of man, the consequence of his fear of death. Death is an ending, a void, something beyond comprehension – and not worthy of fear. When fear is eliminated, religion becomes unnecessary.

As an aside, god is also a contrivance of man, a means to control other men.

Where do your ethics come from?

As already correctly noted: the same place as theists.

No faith has a monopoly on ‘morality.’ Judaism, Christianity, Islam are all recent variations of the ancient moral theme that predates religion itself.

How can you ask an Atheist anything when they don't believe in anything?

It’s not a matter of ‘believing in’ anything; its merely the realization that there is nothing to ‘believe in’ to begin with. Theism is the aberration of human existence.

The world would be more peaceful if the religious observed the 11th commandment:

11. Thou shalt keep thy religion to thyself.

In the United States, we have freedom OF religion, not freedom from religion.

Incorrect.

The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment is clearly intended to ensure that those who are free from religion remain that way.

I don't need a lot of crazy rules to know the difference between right and wrong.

Then how do you know the difference between right and wrong?

That question is actually more problematic for a theist.
