Ashley Judd hits the nail on the head

I have had many conversations and friendships with girls that you are right... they were'nt stereotypically 'hawt' but had a very good head on their shoulders.
If I were single, I couldve looked past it for the most part... but Im sorry, there are others that there is just no freeking way :D

You cant deny Ashley is really pretty now can you...

No! I have eyeballs in my head. :) She is beautiful, and intelligent.

I think there are different kinds of 'hawt'. Like Craig Ferguson, for instance. He's way on the slender side, I don't like toothpick men. But he makes me laugh SO HARD.

And frankly, I will never get married again unless he's a banter buddy.
If he can't return volley? Fugfetaboutit.

That is so important.... I could tell ya a story from my life to support it, but nahh... (I miss her so much though :( )

Being and having a friend you can talk about anything to is very important... I had a GF that was pretty liberal and we loved talking about everything... even at times, politics

Some thought she was kind of 'homely' looking, but I thought she was just the most beautiful lady on earth.

Yup! Same.

Gotta leave the past in the past - I would like to find my first love though. Just to apologize. I figure if it's supposed to happen, it will and otherwise, it's enough that I've owned my own.

Wow... I feel as though we just got done with a therapy class

I feel so much better.... (still miss her)

I have no idea what her political lean is. This has nothing to do with politics, it's societal.

'Hoodies' used to be societal, too.
Until recently.
NOW they've become political.

I didnt get that memo... can I still wear mine because I like it

Well,,,,,,,

lol! Yeah. Well. .... especially if they give good hugs.

Okay I'm done!!

She's a mediocre actress who managed to become famous because she's gorgeous.

I find her self-centered whining about the horridness of people wondering why her face suddenly took on the aspect of a pumpkin at the best *yawn*-able.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree here. Regardless of how attractive she is and how much sex appeal she has, when you enter into high profile show business you're making a trade-off. You swap your private life for a disproportionately high salary. I can appreciate how overwhelming it may seem, but, like every other female celebrity in Hollywood and beyond, she's made her golden bed, so she's got no other choice but to sleep in it. Unless she withdraws from from the celebrity circuit and all the ensuing publicity altogether (like agreeing to interviews in the OP), she isn't getting any sympathy from me. It's a bit like a male pornstar who gets to nail hot women all day; but complains because members of his church don't want anything to do with him.

You must not know very much about her. She doesn't do that. People have two kinds of publicists, and she has the kind that protects her privacy.

People are curious and inquisitive creatures by nature. If they see someone on the big screen who they find attractive, interesting or repellent, they'll take an interest; and the media will mercilessly feed that interest, like they did with celebrities and icons before she took an interest in or was inspired by before becoming a celebrity. You can't have it both ways.

Yes, while capitalizing on an industry that exploits beautiful young women, and using her looks and her relatives to establish her somewhere in the top half, she professes to despise both the industry and the people who want to see her.

She's just a charmer all around.

Granny wants ya'll to know Miss Ashley one of our Kentucky gals an' a huge UofK Wildcat fan...
:clap2:
... Uncle Ferd wants ya'll to know he saw her at the airport once an' blew her a kiss...
:eusa_shifty:
... possum is a big fan o' her movies.

There are boundaries.

Can't have "what" both ways "how"? You sort of jumped from an observation to something else entirely.

And yes - Tom Hanks does it quite well. Many performers don't Lohan, and only hit the circuit when they have a film to promote. You really think that a person whose talent lies in the performing arts doesn't have a right to their privacy?

Both of them?

Privacy? At an airport?

Privacy doesn't mean that nobody gets to comment on what you look like. Sorry.

She does look a little puffy but her new show is really good. I don't care how they look.

In that movie Up in the Air, George Clooney didn't have any help with make up, everyone admired him for that.

People can be silly.

IMHO writing this article makes her appear even more vain and self centered. There are far more important things for her to get upset about than the media criticizing her huge fat face.

I saw the previews, looks intense.

And I <3 George. He's a good egg.

Ashley Judd Slaps Media in the Face for Speculation Over Her

And the ball out of the park.

I ask especially how we can leverage strong female-to-female alliances to confront and change that there is no winning here as women. It doesn’t actually matter if we are aging naturally, or resorting to surgical assistance. We experience brutal criticism. The dialogue is constructed so that our bodies are a source of speculation, ridicule, and invalidation, as if they belong to others—and in my case, to the actual public. (I am also aware that inevitably some will comment that because I am a creative person, I have abdicated my right to a distinction between my public and private selves, an additional, albeit related, track of highly distorted thinking that will have to be addressed at another time).

If this conversation about me is going to be had, I will do my part to insist that it is a feminist one, because it has been misogynistic from the start. Who makes the fantastic leap from being sick, or gaining some weight over the winter, to a conclusion of plastic surgery? Our culture, that’s who. The insanity has to stop, because as focused on me as it appears to have been, it is about all girls and women. In fact, it’s about boys and men, too, who are equally objectified and ridiculed, according to heteronormative definitions of masculinity that deny the full and dynamic range of their personhood. It affects each and every one of us, in multiple and nefarious ways: our self-image, how we show up in our relationships and at work, our sense of our worth, value, and potential as human beings. Join in—and help change—the Conversation.

I liked her point that whether you choose to age naturally, or have work done, some portion of the American population will shame, mock and belittle you for doing so.

Yes people are that way. And yes some people are more offended by it than others. Does she want everyones eyes poked out or their tongues cut off.
We all get old, Ashley. Enjoy those good old days when people craved to say lovely things about your looks
