Not exactly but in some sense yes.
Controlling genetics/evolution through corporate design is maybe a better way to state it.

I have found it to be quite a polarizing subject in most circumstances...not unlike circumcision in that folks seem to be for it or against it...not much room for a half slice so to speak...
