Now, in the above, you heard our Vice-President make the mistake of mis-naming the century.

Not surprised, he's done worse.

Right.

But the corruption that he exposed is that the AP covered for him. They quoted his statement as correctly saying "21st Century".

"I absolutely refuse to accept the notion that the United States of America is not going to lead the world economically throughout the ..20th Century.

Here's the take by the state-run Obama AP:

'He told a gathering on the Delta College campus that he refuses to accept the notion that the U.S. won't be the world's economic leader through the 21st Century.'
And a separate AP via MLive:

"I absolutely refuse to accept the notion that the United States of America is not going to lead the world economically throughout the 21st Century,"
Both the AP releases were written by Mike Householder, and have been parroted throughout the MSM, including the direct quote that wasn't. Here's the take by the liberal Detroit News that illustrates it is not just the Householder AP piece:

He said the United States will continue to lead the world economy throughout this century...
He said no such thing! The question is why would they do this? Why cover up a gaffe caught on live radio, pointed out by ABC news on the radio, but a gaffe that is small compared to some of Biden's prior gaffes? Why the direct quote that is wrong? The direct quote attributed to Biden is written as something Biden intended to say, rather than what he actually did say. Don't they cover things like this in Journalism 101?

Exit question: would Sarah Palin have gotten such deference from the AP? Or anyone else for that matter?"
theblogprof: UPDATED and bumped with Video: MSM covering up Biden gaffe as he defended the stimulus in Michigan, got the century wrong

What was that about no left wing main stream media?
