Intersting tidbits from an article I saw this morning. Could he be confessing because he is enamoured with child slaying?

Hopefully, the DNA will answer the questions.

He said Karr insisted his crime was not first-degree murder but that JonBenet died during a kidnapping attempt that went awry.

"He said it was second-degree murder. He said it was unintentional," Suwat said.

"He said he loved this child, that he was in love her. He said she was very pretty, a pageant queen. She was the school star, she was very cute and sweet," Suwat said.

But a Petaluma, Calif., woman who said she was Karr's ex-wife told KGO-TV in San Francisco that she was with him in Alabama at the time of JonBenet's death. Lara Karr said her ex-husband spent a lot of time reading up on the cases of Ramsey and Polly Klaas, who was abducted from her Petaluma home and slain in 1993.

DNA was found beneath JonBenet's fingernails and inside her underwear, but Lin Wood, the family's longtime attorney, said two years ago that detectives were unable to match it to anyone in an FBI database. It was not known whether investigators had any DNA evidence against Karr.

The Ramseys learned that police were investigating Karr at least a month before Patsy Ramsey's death in June of ovarian cancer, the family said.

In a statement Wednesday, father John Ramsey said that if his wife had lived to see Karr's arrest, she "would no doubt have been as pleased as I am with today's development almost 10 years after our daughter's murder."

Suwat quoted Karr as saying he tried to kidnap JonBenet for a $118,000 ransom but that his plan went awry and he strangled her. Patsy Ramsey reported finding a ransom note in the house demanding $118,000 for her daughter.

It probably would be a good idea for a lot of parents to stop allowing their daughters to dress like Madonna/Britney-style sex kittens. We have a culture infested with so many pedophiles because of the widespread PORNOGRAPHY that is allowed to infest our culture everywhere. Our country has developed a widespread breeding ground for pedophiles. We need to change the laws and crack down on the filth.

What I get out of this news is that this slimy creep was most likely caught for rape/child molestation in Thailand and was thrown in jail over there. Since their jails are not exactly known for being a walk in the park he probably has been "confessing", i.e. negotiating, in order to be brought back to the U.S. and placed in a nice, clean, comfy U.S. jail cell with 3 squares a day. Better for him than dying of malnutrition in a diseased and filthy Thailand jail cell. They should just let the scumbag rot there for life.

They say he was a 2nd grade teacher. Makes one begin to wonder about other men who like to teach children....what an opportunistic job for a pedophhile...

Im not so sure, he was a suspect early on on this case, so he must have had some kind of connection or access to the family which made investigators question him in the first place. Plus I think the DA has some forensic evidence that may also link him, but of course they are not going to compromise the case by releasing it any time soon, especially if a grand jury is to be convened.

John Mark Karr gave authorities graphic details about the condition of JonBenet Ramsey's body that have been kept secret for nearly a decade, a U.S. law enforcement source told CNN on Friday.

Those details were known only to the medical examiner and the investigators investigating the December 26, 1996 slaying of the 6-year-old beauty pageant competitor, the law enforcement official said.

Some of the details Karr shared were gruesome -- and accurate -- the source said.

Meanwhile, Ramsey family attorney Lin Wood told The Associated Press that JonBenet's mother Patsy Ramsey agreed to meet with the man who claimed to be her daughter's killer to help investigators.

But Patsy Ramsey died of ovarian cancer in June before the meeting took place, the AP said.

Karr, 41, said he believed Patsy Ramsey read his correspondence expressing remorse for JonBenet's death before she died.

But Wood told the AP that Patsy Ramsey never received Karr's letters or e-mails because the correspondence was routed to police.

"He thought that he was corresponding with Patsy, but he wasn't," Wood told the news service.

According to Wolf Blitzer of CNN there is an arrest forthcoming in the case of JonBenet Ramsey. MSNBC is now reporting that the arrest has been made in Bangkok, Thailand and KUSA out of Denver is confirming that.

A Boulder County District Attorney investigator is bringing a suspect in the Jon Benet Ramsey murder case back to the United States, KUSA reports on their website.

According to the report - the suspect was arrested in Bangkok, Thailand Wednesday morning.

The suspect has confessed to certain elements of the crime that are unknown to the general public.

The suspect is expected to arrive back in the United States, possibly within the next two days, accompanied by an investigator from the Boulder DA's office.

The Boulder County DA's office has not confirmed the identity of the suspect, but is expected to have a press conference later today.

JonBenet Ramsey was murdered nearly ten years ago in Boulder, Colo., and her mother, Patsy Ramsey, who died last month of ovarian cancer, are both buried in Cobb County.

This is just SO bullshit. From the police centering their investigation on the Ramsey's -- coming up with a theory and trying to force the evidence to fit while ignoring any evidence irrelevant to their theory -- to the media villifying this family for the past 8 years.

Completely incompetent and if I was running the show, there'd be more than a couple of job openings coming up on a certain police department.
