Army to GI who praised Dr Paul On National TV : "TEN-HUT"

Barring military personnel from overtly participating in campaigning is long standing and has a very good reason if you stop for a couple of minutes and think about the fate of other countries who allowed their military to meddle in civilian politics.

Military personnel are not prevented from overtly participating in campaigning for a candidate while off duty and out of uniform.

True, but when they identify themselves as a service member, all bets are off.

Who is this guy? The left wing media ideolized a dozen "Soldiers" who didn't make the grade after a simple check. The media hints that "Cpl Thorsen" is not on active duty but he is currently facing another tour in Afghanistan". Which is it?

He's a reservist whose unit has been called up in the past, he is currently not in an active status but remains a reservist whose unit is subject to activation. When activated he will go back on "active" duty.

However, a reservist is still subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice and applicable regulations between call-up deployments in matters that pertain to the military. Matters such as inappropriate wearing of the military uniform at a political event.

Each service has similar regulations, for example Army Uniform Regulations are contained in AR 670-1:

Su m m a r y . T h i s r e g u l a t i o n p r e s c r i b e s
Department of the Army policy for proper
wear and appearance of Army uniforms
and insignia, as worn by officers and enlisted
personnel of the active and reserve
components of the Army,
as well as by
former soldiers.

Applicability.
This regulation applies to
active and retired Army, Army National
Guard of the United States (ARNGUS)
and U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) personnel.
It does not apply to generals of the
Army, the Chief of Staff of the Army, or
former Chiefs of Staff of the Army, each
of whom may prescribe his or her own
uniform. It applies to the Reserve Officers
Training Corps and the Corps of Cadets,
U.S. Military Academy, only when their
respective uniform regulations do not include
sufficient guidance or instruction.
During mobilization, the proponent may
modify chapters and policies contained in
this regulation.
Proponent and exception authority.
The proponent of this regulation is the
Deputy Chief of Staff, G–1. The proponent
has the authority to approve exceptions
or waivers to this regulation that are
consistent with controlling law and regulations.
The proponent may delegate this
approval authority, in writing, to a division
chief within the proponent agency or
a direct reporting unit or field operating
agency of the proponent agency in the
grade of colonel or the civilian equivalent.
Activities may request a waiver to this
regulation by providing justification that
includes a full analysis of the expected
benefits and must include formal review
by the activity’s senior legal officer. All
waiver requests will be endorsed by the
commander or senior leader of the reque

Sounds like Big Brother and his Military Industrial Complex are getting nervous. Ron Paul receives more campaign donations from our Military than any other Candidate does. So i can see why they're getting nervous.

I wonder how much longer before the Mossad orders Dr Ron Paul - the enemy of the state - assassinated.

.

Maybe some black person will purposely infect him with HIV. Then his newsletter will be true.

I don't believe there is an issue with identifying yourself as a member of the military, where this individual erred was in wearing the uniform at a political event.
