    No way. Way back when I read an article in Sports Illustrated (a non partisan magazine with no agenda if there ever was one) that Lance Armstrong's edge over his competitors was his lung capacity was as much as 50% greater than any other mere mortal.

    I know they wouldn't lie or cover up anything.

    That is not the only reason for blood transfusions. On several occasions, Armstrong was found to have an accelerated count of mature red cells, but a disproportionately lower amount of "baby" red blood cells. This is proof of an infusion of mature red blood cells. Since mature red blood cells carry oxygen, this gave Armstrong a distinct advantage over his competitors who did do receive prohibit transfusions.
