Are we Americans....

The US intervend in a civil war. 'For the good of the world, communism must be stopped', was the line spouted at the time.
Long story short.... US assasinated the democraic leader of South Vietnam, then proceed in a drawn out war which they lost. One that cost hundred of thousands of American lives, and millions of Vietnamese lives. IN the end, the 'evil' communists over ran the country. To this date it is communist. But now America does a lot of bussiness with them. Are they not evil? They killed there own people, why support them? They killed your own poeple and you support them. Meanwhile, US invades Iraq using alot of the same language as Vietnam.

What is the difference? That is the history the world is looking at when they condem the US actions in Iraq. US's argument is not credible when compared to it's own history.

No the question is have You Learned anything from Vietnam. Have you learned what happens when we dont fight to destroy evil. Because the bungling of Vietnam by Democrats and then Neocommunist war protesters like John Kerry, the death toll was far greater then it ever would have been if we had fought to win.

Because of liberalism everyone who died in the Vietnam War died in Vain. Because of liberalism those people who sacrificed everything were spit on when they came home. It was because of liberalism we abandoned our allies and allowed communist thungs to murder more than 21 million innocent people in their "perfect" socialist society.

You havent learned from the nazis or the cold war that Appeasement, Detente, containment, whatever the heck you want to call it doesnt work. Only victory over evil will bring freedom and peace to the world.

What does that have to do with Europe learning from the folly of appeasement?

At any rate, Vietnam was a gift from the Soviets.

We returned the favor with Afghanistan.

the statue of liberty in the harbor of new york is a lasting symbol of our brotherhood with the french. like any family, there are disagreements like the one we are in now. on the whole, I expect us to get past it at some point and move forward altho I can't say whether we will reach the same point of alliance we have enjoyed in the past. Yes, we saved them a couple times, but they also contributed greatly in our own fight for liberty if you recall.
true!
