Are the Iranian People watching Cairo/Egypt?

Hopefully they are..

But there is a big difference. The United States has very little in terms of diplomatic pressure they can put on Iran.

Banksters? People who work in banks and run banks? They might be your friends and neighbors but they run a business ....gasp....to make money. Is that offensive to socialists? Politicians are never your friends. They smile and tell you what you want to hear but they work for us and we have to be on their backs at all times to make sure they do the right thing. When a politician asks you to rely on "hope" you have to realize that he is an inept fraud who will take you to the poor house.

I wonder if any of the short-sighted denizens of the Peanut Gallery, who are now cheering and rubbing their hands with glee, remember who replaced the Shah of Iran, when he was deposed. :eusa_think:

Unfortunately, they are rather short-sighted.

or won't...talk isn't always cheap...we had our chance.

Which "chance" would that be?

Personally, I would say the election of Khatami was our chance..but that was flubbed by both the Clinton and Bush administrations.

If I were the Iranian government I block everything coming out of Egypt, don't want to give the people any ideas. Syria has already done so.

And what actions would a self styled "gubmint" hating propose for the United States..as it relates to Egypt.

Khatami was just the President though, the Ayatollahs are the ones really running that country.

We can't afford basic human concern for our fellow men, women and children here in the United States. You "conservatives" say that almost every day. Why do you suddenly have basic human concern for your fellow man in Egypt???

No, We are completely for basic human concern for our fellow man. We just dont think that means making their lives worse by making them dependent on government.

See, we believe in individuals doing their duty to help one another. Not outsourcing that duty to the government.

But Im sure you will continue to ignore this while pretending that you have concern for your fellow man.

what does Khatami have to do with it? last summer, hello? do I need to replay the bravely spoken calls for democracy buy obama vis a vis the green rev.? not..because there was none until he hedged his bets for a week.

Travel to Laos, Cambodia, Mexico, Korea, and get back to me on basic human rights. This is laughable. We are exponentially above anyone else in the history of the world and yet we have people here in the US bitching about how bad we have it. Cry yourself a river. I don't care.
