Are SMART meters really smart?

From this article and studies evidently they are not accurate for sure. If you have ever had one and noticed a substantial increase in your electric bill this article may help explain why.

Smart Meters could be overbilling you by a whopping 582%
American style capitalism.

Don't worry, worldwide Americanization ongoing, smart meters are coming to your house as soon as your local country legislators finish enacting the new law that fines you if you resist. The smart meter manufacturers and utility companies have paid them well for it and they must balance their investment with you.

The University of Twente tests on Static Energy Meters included tests using a 10A lighting dimmer and a string of 30 non-dimmable CFL (energy saving lamps)and a string of 20 non-dimmable LED lamps. This in and of itself is not a real world scenario that would exist in a consumer’s house. It may occur that one or even a few non-dimmable lamps could be connected to a dimmer by a consumer, but not as in the reported tests with 20, 30, or even 50 lamps.

The lesson? The smart meters are fine. Putting non-dimmable bulbs in dimmer fixtures will mess them up a bit, so don't do that.
