Yeah, take 'em down to burger-flipping wages. The main reason government jobs pay better than they used to is because governments were so fucked up they needed to upgrade personnel. They knew the only way to attract and retain a better workforce was to up salary and benefits - along with requiring better educated workers.

BTW, it's the higher level grades that really are overpaid - with salaries and bonuses.

They didn't prove that Federal workers are overpaid.

They proved that the Federal workers with less than PHd level educations are better paid than private sector workers.

There's three possible explainations for that.

1. That government workers are over paid
2. That private sector workers are underpaid
3. That all workers are underpaid but that Federal workers are slightly less underpaid.

If I had to guess I'd say #3 is probably right.

Governments are still screwed up peabrain and always will be. Government employees have no incentive to work. You sound like a government employee.
