Are Caucasians from Africa who legally immigrated to America considered "AFRICAN AMERICAN"?

They are, right? "AFRICAN AMERICAN" denotes a region of origin, not skin color....unless you are racist and judge people based on skin color.

Maybe we should have "DARK SKINNED AMERICANS" to be more accurate....to be inclusive of our Caribbean brothers and sisters from countries like Jamaica and Barbados.

A south African immigrant who gets legal resident status in America should get all the benefits of any African American, correct?
