We don't change classifications of Cuban-Americans based on the darkness of the pigment in their skin.

It's funny when Universities rescind scholarships for Africans Americans who aren't black enough.

They should be accurate. "BLACKS" would include EVERYONE with dark pigment in their skin. That seems more accurate than a geographic identifier.

Jamaican with dark skin, raised in Sweden since they were a baby, moves to America and becomes a citizen when they are 30 years old.

Once they move to America, how do we hyphenate them and make sure their victimhood is adequately identified?

it's funny that the AA people dont just come out and say that your skin must be "THIS DARK" to get the preferential treatment.

FFS, when the slave ships came there were areas of Africa like the Slave Coast long before colonialism carved out administrative states. Very few African-Americans have any idea where exactly their ancestors departed from.

North Africa had defined countries for 1000s of years and most everyone knows if they originated in Morocco, Egypt or wherever. While technically they are also African-Americans, they more readily identified with the specific countries or more generally Arab-Americans, Berber-Americans and so on. Blacks are not very popular in North African countries either and few of them wish to be identified as such.
