I don't think you can call Yamamoto an assassination. He was a military target on a military aircraft on a military mission. On a side note, I read somewhere that they thought he was on the can when shot down.

Aside from the fact that Adm Yamamoto was a legitimate target aboard a military airplane and not an "assassination", I agree. Military conflicts should be legitimate declared wars and not just done on the whim of a president. Terrorists are a different matter and should be dispatched with extreme prejudice.
