The last debate among VP's, Joe Biden stated that he and Barak Obama would make sure that the next Supreme Court Justice will not overturn Roe vs. Wade, as if their position on abortion was a litmus test of sorts to see if they were competent. He then said that whoever they chose will be "open minded".
Not only are these two statements contradictory, it blantatnly shows that they are merely attempting to legislate from the bench. Is this what the Founding Fathers had in mind? Why on earth would a candidate to the Supreme Court say what their opinion on abortion is? After all, if a case were brought to SCOTUS regarding abortion, would the justice not first have to hear the case before coming to a decision, or do these idiots think that as soon as they take the bench they will single handedly try to overturn Roe vs. Wade?
Look at this from another angle, what if back in the day Supreme Court Justices were appointed only if they promised not to overturn Dred Scott? We would still have Dred Scott.
