That is a pretty rapid rise. The sale for fiscal year 2014 was only around 450 million dollars.

BENGALURU: Apple didn't take India seriously in the early years of the global iPhone-iPad rage. But now, the country is likely one of its fastest growing markets. The company is said to have touched $1 billion in revenue in India in the financial year ended March 31, 2015 — an increase of over 40% from the year before when it did Rs 4,500 crore in revenue. It's also three times more than what it did just three years ago in 2011-12.

Sources told TOI that the company is close to filing the final results with the ministry of corporate affairs (MCA). But even without that, the unit sales figures indicate that an over $1-billion revenue is inevitable. Apple has sold 1.3 million phones in 2014-15 compared to 9.28 lakh it sold in the previous fiscal — a growth rate of 42%, according to figures compiled by Cybermedia Research.

Industry experts say a significant part of the sales came from the big launches of last year, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, both priced at the top end. So revenue growth is likely to have exceeded unit sales growth.

Anytime you are making money especially when your sales are going up, it usually involves economic issue. It crates jobs. It creates taxable revenue. Etc.

dear, the economic issue of importance is capitalism versus liberalism. Your issue is very very very trivial to say the least. Do you understand??

Well if the rest of us were like you and only knew how to continuously regurgitate about five responses all related capitalism/liberalism, we're probably think that was pretty darn important too and no other discussions would happen.

Capitalism is mainly an economic issue. Liberalism is mainly a social issue. However, your economic condition affects your lifestyle therefor there is no such thing as capitalism versus liberalism. In any given society, your ability to make money greatly affects your outlook on life. That is why any news which relates to increase in taxable revenue is a good news from the perspective of economics.

Don't be afraid and try to be open to new ventures. .

who is afraid to try to be open to new ventures?????? Are you drunk???

Drinks also contribute to economy. Rising sale of American beverages overseas will create more jobs and taxable revenue here at home.

The issue is freedom versus govt and this poor idiot wants to talk about Apple's revenue in India??

It seems like I have struck a nerve :)

Your simple mind has missed it but there is a pattern and that pattern is very important. If you act like a civilized human being, I might take some time to even educate you.

The main economic issue on this planet is freedom versus govt and this poor idiot wants to talk about Apple's revenue in India??

You do not know how to construct sentences that are capable of delivering accurate messages. This makes you an idiot of the highest order. For example, your last post implied that governments by definition are against freedom. That is not always the case unless by freedom you mean freedom to rob and kill. That kind of freedom is not conducive to economic growth and actually degrades any economy.
