Not that I know of---hyperpartisans who hate anything convservative just assumed the worst.

This election has been touted as an exercise in "throwing the bums out". Such feigned outrage seems empty when the Democratic party continues to embrace liars, antisemites, racists, and those who sell their seat for a freezer full of cash. Now, Democrats in West Virginia have continued one of the longest consecutive strings of hypocrisy in American history.
Senator Robert Byrd has been reelected, regardless of the fact that he was an active member of the Klu Klux Klan in the past. He took part in an 83 day filibuster of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and opposed the Voting Rights Act of 1965. As recently as 2001 he used the 'N' word in public conversation, even on national TV on the "Fox News Sunday" show.

The idea that a person who was a "Kleagle" and an "Exalted Cyclops" in the Klu Klux Klan could run as a Republican is out of the question. Trent Lott's resignation was demanded for simply praising Strom Thurman (D), an act aped by countless Democrats upon Thurman's death with no repercussions. Bill Clinton not only praised rabid segregationists, but gave the Presidential Medal of Freedom to William Fulbright, who opposed racial integration and signed The Southern Manifesto.

People voted for Democrats in the the belief that they were supporting a higher standard. Those people have fooled themselves into believing Democrat politicians aren't really politicians. They will lie, they will cheat, they will embrace the unsavory, and they will utter shameful slurs when they think no one else can hear them just like any other politician.

After having our work critiqued for a number of years, we've handed the shovel to the critic. Now dig. Don't expect an ounce of leeway, or a thread of sympathy. Expect every blemish to be magnified and dissected. Democrats should not be allowed their Byrd double standards, and anyone who opposes their misguided agenda should make exposing every oversight and misstep their happy pastime.

Great addition to the thread red, I wonder whether Jillian/Grump have a problem with Bill"First Black President" Clinton and his adoration of Fulbright. I was told once that Bill Clinton admitted to always making sure he had a black man in his foursome(Vernon Jordan) to keep the press off of his ass for playing the elitist white man's game of golf. He is by far the master of playing people to their face and having them walk off loving him.... I'm sure that even knowing this Jillian/Grump wouldn't have a problem going out to a cigar bar with him.

For all of his other faults, I refuse to fault Bill Clinton for admiring J. William Fulbright. Despite his major fault of racism and his opposition to the civil rights movement, he was still a fine man and did much to advance the University of Arkansas, which integrated with no major problems. If you want a racial target in Arkansas, go after Rockafeller. He's the one that used the National Guard to prevent the integration of Little Rock Central, despite federal order. He's why the 101st Airborne actually dropped into the streets of Little Rock to enforce the executive order.
