Poll: Grouchy Public Sticking With Obama

    By LIZ SIDOTI, AP
posted: 1 HOUR 11 MINUTES AGO
New Associated Press-GfK Poll Shows OBama's Latest Public Approval Rating

WASHINGTON (Nov. 11) - President Barack Obama still has the approval of a majority of Americans, but it's an increasingly pessimistic nation.

The public grew slightly more dispirited on a range of matters over the past month, including war and the economy, continuing the slippage that has occurred since Obama took office, the latest Associated Press-GfK poll shows.

This comes at a time when he is trying to revive the struggling economy, considering sending more troops to the 8-year-old Afghanistan war, muscling a health care reform overhaul through Congress and hoping to push through other ambitious measures like legislation focused on climate change.

People were gloomier about the direction of the country than in October. They disapproved of Obama's handling of the economy a bit more than before. And, perhaps most striking for the commander in chief, more people have lost confidence in Obama on Iraq and Afghanistan over the last month. Overall, there's a malaise about the state of the nation.

    ---

How they can Conclude that the Public is Sticking with Obama is beyond me...

And even so, you are a Gaggle of Grouchy Bastards, so SHUT THE FUCK UP!...

    He's Trying!

    I Hope.

    Something's gotta Change...

    Probably will Next Fall.

    :)

    peace...

People should be "Grouchy." This Administration has thoroughly screwed several generations to come. Nothing to be too optimistic about at this point in my opinion.

RealClearPolitics - Election Other - President Obama Job Approval

You guys need to understand that his approval numbers have been right at 51% or higher since August. That AP poll is even at 54% approval. There is an 11 pt. spread between the approval and disapproval in the AP poll.

You can't just look at one. :eusa_snooty:

Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-three percent (53%) disapprove.

Sixty percent (60%) say that the Fort Hood shootings should be investigated by the military as a terrorist act. Just 27% prefer a criminal investigation by civilian authorities.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 30% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -10 (see trends). Republicans have opened a six-point lead on the Generic Congressional Ballot.

It is important to remember that the Rasmussen Reports job approval ratings are based upon a sample of likely voters. Some other firms base their approval ratings on samples of all adults. President Obama's numbers are always several points higher in a poll of adults rather than likely voters. That's because some of the President's most enthusiastic supporters, such as young adults, are less likely to turn out to vote.

Unfortunately we are experiencing a very sad Hopey Changey Socialist Malaise. It really does remind all of the awful Jimmy Carter Malaise of the 70's. Massive spending,Massive Debt,Massive Unemployment, and absolutely no "Hope" or "Change." Yes people should be "Grouchy" at this point. :(

The Most say the economy stayed the same, and most don't approve of how Obama is handling it — just 46 percent approve compared with 50 percent last month.

    The country also has grow

The AP is still attempting to sugar coat the dismal presidency of Obama, so they are attempting to sugar coat this report and most likely exagerate the poll numbers. In reality the poll numbers are much, much worse.

Your analysis is not correct. Most Americans do approve.
