AOC: "growing cauliflower is colonial, we should grow culturally significant plants like yucca"

I have another question------just how popular is YUCA in the USA amongst
PEOPLE OF COLOR?
What the fuck is yuca? Don't they make tequila out of that?

no---tequila is done from GUAVA---which grows like watermelon ---vines
on the ground. I asked a Mexican neighbor. I have no idea if it would
thrive in the Bronx. I have been told that ARAK or some facsimile can be
made from cactus fruit. I have never seen cactus in the Bronx

No biggie, my daughter in law is Mexican and they gave us a bunch on agave nectar a few years back. I like tequila alright, but I like the product of sugar cane better. Just my Coon Ass roots.

Since the stupid ass snaggle tooth googly eyed lemur has managed to bring identity politics into gardening, we should ask her why racist Alaskans don't grow coconut trees or why don't we grow oranges in Antarctica.

" Yucca are desert plants native to the Southwestern United States, Mexico, and Central America."

Not much of a garden plant in her neighborhood...

And I doubt it's as nutritional as cauliflower.
I think she meant yuca, also known as cassava, which is a root vegetable--a South American substitute for potato.
If you don't harvest it every year, it turns into a tree, btw.
