Anyone know what this is?

Tigerbob, I'm pretty sure it's a Green Anole - also known as the American Chameleon as it can change colour from green to brown, depending on its surroundings.

the hubby agrees with you that it's a Green Anole, but never heard it called an American Chameleon before (though he also says it might well be called that, too).

Google has a couple listings as American Chameleon, but Anole seems to be favorite. That said, it looks more like a brown Anole. Not sure if they are the same. Anyway, it's an Anole of one color or another. Well done USMB Mensa members. :clap2:

Now, about the frog.....

hubby says he doesn't know about the frog he never worked with them.

Yep. The same. It's changed its colouring from green to brown to fit in with the surrounding colours.

Now, about the frog.....

How did Sarkozy get into this conversation?

He's trying to avoid being eaten. As is his wife.

Hi. Your little lizard is a brown anole. I can't tell for certain because he's picked up the color of the plant he's on, but I think the frog is just a regular green tree frog.

Thanks for that. We'd established that it was an anole, but I appreciate you taking the time to confirm. I was thinking that the corn snake was after the tree frog, but further research indicates that if they can't find their preferred prey of rats and mice they eat.....anoles.

That's what we called 'em when I lived in Florida. (chameleons)

Scared the crap outta my Mom all the time

Yes I know it's a lizard. What kind? It's about 4" long and comes out every morning, sits on the wall next to me (I'm in Marathon in the Florida Keys at present), bobs it's head a few times and then does this weird thing with its neck. I know the head bobbing and displaying are to attract a mate, but I'd love to know a bit more about it. Saw it grab a bug this morning - really cool (except for the bug of course). Any ideas?

Bob, I had one of those as a pet when I was 11. I bought it at the pet store where they called it a chameleon. They are not really chameleons though, they are lizards that are native to South Carolina.
