Hey I got the new iMac G5 and was wondering if anyone knows how to compress photos from the iPhoto format? From both film and digital format.
Also anyone know how to hotlink a photo from the iPhoto so I could post it in the Photo section the board?

Can't help you with the Mac stuff, but...

Hotlink from here:

PM me when registered and I'll upgrade you to Platinum for free!

There are a couple options for you...

iPhoto itself doesn't have a compression tool of its own, other than in the e-mail option. If you click e-mail and choose the size of 640X480 or something small like that then click create mail you can drag the photo from the e-mail directly onto your desktop and it will keep it in the same format. This option won't work a high number of photos at a shot but if you only have a couple you can do it.

You can also download a compression tool at a site like http://www.download.com and compress them separately then bring the photo into your iPhoto library....

Isn't there a Mac equivalent to mspaint that is included? Even the craptastic mspaint does JPEG and GIF.

OS 9 had one, but I believe that they include and expect iPhoto to be the end-all in the newest versions of Mac. I am far from an expert on Macs though, so somebody can prove me wrong later....

It is best to simply download a comression agent and use it, it will be better than any simple program that they have on the Mac.
