I'm so sad, I just heard that local sports caster Gary Pappa died. He battled prostate cancer for six years. I knew he was sick but had no idea it was so far advanced. He's was great; funny, personable, knowledgeable -- just an all around good guy. We'll miss ya, Gar!

Wow, hadn't heard that one yet. I'm from south Jersey, I've watched him a lot on Action News.

Yeah, he was pretty far along. He'd had multiple chemo treatments, he was doing broadcasts with no hair.

Pretty sad.

I don't like many media people, but he was one of the few I did like. You could tell he was genuine.
