The right and the business community WARNED ALL OF US Obaminationcare are HORRENDOUS for business and was going to lead to significant layoffs and small business liquidation!

Business held out for a Romney victory that didn't happen and when he lost they had to adjust to the reality that Obaminationcare is here to stay. So the inevitable AND STATED RESULT is happening. Companies big and small are laying off employees by the 100s!

My corporation announced 9% growth this year (which is amazing for a mature market), yet they stated due to regulation costs there will be layoffs! OUCH!!! They aren't alone! It seems everywhere you look, big cos, small cos, liberal cos, conservative cos, no matter what industry, cos are laying off employees or going under!

The big players are making the headlines, but the small business owners who employ 60% of Americans are getting squeezed and many have been forced to toss in the towel.

Even the Huffingglue Post admits Obaminationcare is squeezing small business (even though they are HIGHLY dishonest to the fact that it forcing many small business to close shop).

Obamacare Forces Small Business To Trim, But Not Eliminate, Health Care Coverage, Survey Says

Yet who do the liberals BLAME? The businesses that are forced to make the cuts! They business owners warned the liberals and they ignored them, now liberals have to live with the consequences and they don't like them. The blame should be on the piece of poorly crafted legislation that caused this mess! The corps are just adapting as they said they would!

I have to agree. I've seen people saying things like, "It makes no sense, they need the workers." Well, they will let someone go with experience and short of full pension. They can hire two, at lower salary for 29 or less hours per week. Once trained, they will do fine. There are plenty of college educated folks looking for work and something paying $20 an hour, even for only 25 hours, beats $9 hr jobs in interests.

So the full-time worker gets screwed. The part-time workers are a bit better off than previously. The employer will get the work done and probably still come out ahead.

Irony generally involves unexpected, or counter intuitive outcomes. So, I can't call the reaction ironic. It is unfortunate however, because they'll use the supposed "unintended consequences" as excuses for even more bad policy. Garbage in, garbage out.

"As Obamacare continues to do exactly what all of us said it was going to do— forcing layoffs, cutbacks on hours, doctor shortages, and slowed innovation—the favorite trope of the Left is just to call any business person who fights to stay above water while Obama’s drowning them big, greedy meanies."

"Now one of the biggest device manufacturers, Stryker Corp., has tied plans to slash 5% of its global workforce – in part by shuttering two New York plants – to the tax."

"Stryker acquired the plants in 2010 with its purchase of Gaymar Industries, which specialized in support surface and pressure ulcer management products as well as temperature management.
Stryker said last November that it would eliminate 5% of its global workforce as part of an effort to realize $100 million in annual productivity gains to offset the hit when the excise tax takes effect in 2013."

And who is this big greedy meanie???

"Lobbyists for Stryker Corp. have reported spending $435,000 over the past two years lobbying on multiple issues, including bills that would repeal the medical device tax included in the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare."

RE: This medical device tax is just not going to end well « The Greenroom

Progressives are morons. They deserve what's coming to them.

Uh, yeah ... the business owner can deduct the premiums from his income tax, ObamaCare gives the business owner an additional tax breaks and the employee has his choice of insurance exchanges.

Businesses make money off giving their employees decent health care coverage and now ObamaCare has increased that.

Don't believe me. Ask your own accountant. Or, if you're on line and actually have access to a computer that will open a link to a search engine, why, hot damn and hallelujah, you can even look it up your own little self.

This ain't rocket surgery folx.

Do you really think these businesses and corporations didn't consult both accountants and lawyers? Really?

Did they think that Mittens could stop the ACA? It's the insurance lobbies baby, and in no way was they going to let him throw out the baby with the bath water.

and the topic was, Reload this Page Anyone find the liberal outrage on the INEVITABLE Obamacare Side Effects Ironic!!!

Let me get this straight an unemployed little kid like you that hasn't moved out of his parents house knows more than all the CEO, executives and small business owners make these tough decisions! LOL, you're a mental midget!

CEO's are not mental giants, just ask Ken Lay, oops sorry, he's in hell. Where else can you get millions even if you fail?

Dear GHook:
1. The liberals I know protested ACA from the beginning, citing corporate benefits for insurance lobbies that blocked single payer plans. Like Ralph Nader and his fans, many of these honest liberals split from the Democrats long ago and organized and pushed through the Green Party; similar to how Constitutionalists went for Ron Paul or Libertarians to protest the political problems with GOP obstructing them for similar reasons as the Democrat Party.

2. The people I know who run businesses either set up LLC to protect themselves or use a DBA to write off all business expenses. If you only hire "consultants as contractors" to do the work, then you don't have any employees to have to file for, to cut down on paperwork.

3. As for people who would have blamed the economy anyway for these cuts, and not Obama specifically, that still does not justify complaining about private businesses making decisions. If they want something else, then pool resources and go buy Hostess or the company that shut down after 112 years of sewing "American-made" clothing. There is nothing stopping them from saving jobs if that is what they want to do. Just borrow or pull money from all sources, as you are asking business owners to do, and anyone can do this!

Hi Luddly can you help me research this:
Is it true that McDonald's got exempted as a "small business adversely affected" by the bill.

If the health care coverage makes more money for the company,
why would McDonald's opt out? could it be that the extra paperwork was not accounted for in the cost of legal and labor costs?

is it true that of McDonalds and other companies that got exempted
87% were big donors to Obama's campaign?

If this is such a positive and beneficial program, why did the unions and these companies get exemptions?

liberals will blame the evil greedy rich for all of obamacare's faults. It's already baked into the cake.

It's very interesting how you sit here and calmly reassure us that you were right, and all it takes is "asking your accountant" or "looking it up" to prove that you are, and yet big corporations, which employ many accountants, say you're full of shit.

Gosh, WHO should we believe?
