Assuming my wife and I reach our next anniversary this coming august...

If y'all had to choose ONE hotel/Resort/thing/place/ville in Vegas, which would you choose and why?

Figure, +/-$1000/each, 3-4 nights

I've seen deals on line/packages of trips/hotels/etc...but honestly I'd have no reason to pick one over the other, thus, asking for your input.

I spent 5 days at Caesars Palace and it was fantastic, but that was 1986.
I’d still go back again though!

When you reach your next Anniversary, maybe you could try Bermuda? Stunningly beautiful, exceptionally clean, very friendly people, very safe, ocean breezes, flowers growing wild everywhere. secluded beaches- really. British/Bermudian culture. And people ride everywhere on motor scooters. You can't rent a car if you try.

yes i know quite a bit.....i would not go there....

Having been to Vegas about 12 times now, I have no reservations recommending the following hotels:

Belagio
Venetian
Mandalay Bay
Paris
Alladin

If you go, you must see the following shows:

Blueman
"O" by Cirque Di Soli at Belagio
"Mystere" by Cirque Di Soli at Treasure Island

Emeril Lagasses has a new Restaurant opened at the MGM
Bobby Flay opened a new Grill up at Ceasar's Palace

Other great dining is:
Aureole at Mandalay Bay
Olives at Belagio

For the coolest drink spots:
Red Square - Vodka bar in Mandalay Bay
Voodoo Lounge on top of the Rio Hotel
"Ghost Bar" on top of the Palms

Bellagio or Venetian. My parents have stayed in both and recommend both highly.

The time for answering this has probably come and gone, but, since I lived in Las Vegas for four years, and still live just up the road in Reno, Nevada, I have friends in Vegas and go there often. I know a little about the town.

-Cp's list above is probably the best, and in that order.

But don't forget Reno. We have everything Vegas has got, just on a smaller more personal level. But if you ever visit Reno, stay at the Silver Legacy. By far the biggest, cleanest, and most elegant hotel/casino in Reno. Although the Peppermill is in the proccess of doing some major building also. Good place to eat too.

In any case, I hope things have worked out with you and the misses.

I recommend Bellagio. They have a great pool, more great restaurants than you can possibly eat at in one trip and the clientele is pretty upscale (for Vegas).

Guess I'll have to go back.. Last time I was in Vegas, they were only about half done building Bellagio...

We have been there a half dozen times or so. We have stayed at Monte Carlo, Paris, Treasure Island, New York New York and MGM. All were nice places to stay. We went one time in July, and that was the first and only time we will visit Las Vegas in July. The heat outside just about did me in. I was close to having a sun stroke. There are some nice free entertainments offered, among them a water show at the Bellagio and a pirate show at Treasure Island.
