I've been doing field archery since I was a teen. My father is also a keen archer, and we've both shot in several of the UK's national field archery champs. I took-up the sport after he introduced me to it, though I'm not in the least bit interested in target achery - not enough variables.
I shoot a 50 lbf draw weight recurve take-down bow by Border Archery. I make and fletch my own arrows using Port Orford cedar shafts with brass pile heads. I also own a replica Roman compound - in the ancient sense, no cams. And I also own a crossbow, but haven't used it much, yet.
As many of you may know, bowhunting is illegal in the UK, don't get me started, I know, we have unnecessarily restrictive hunting legislation. But that hasn't stopped me. I've hunted Deer and Boar in both Europe and America, but only for the meat, not trophy hunting.
So, any other archers/bowhunters out there? And if so, what kit do you use?
