Considering the crap it is forced to respond to, the NRA has more credibility than Brady. Without the ridiculous and moronic proposals for new gun control, the NRA could just revert to its original mission and the legislative arm could wither.

Guns are only a political issue because of; A), the fact that gun control is at its core, a political agenda disguised as "crime control" and B), the profound constitutional ignorance of gun control supporters who have no understanding of the concept of "rights" . . . .

No one of significant or merit seeks to enact gun control measures contrary to current Second Amendment jurisprudence, nor seeks to have Heller 'overturned' – the majority of Americans from across the political spectrum consider Heller settled and accepted case law, and support the right of individuals to posses firearms.

Guns are contrived into a political issue as a means to motivate a given partisan base; the NRA in particular involves itself in partisan advocacy having nothing to do with the rights enshrined in the Second Amendment.

And 'gun rights' extremists exhibit a comprehensive ignorance of, and contempt for, Second Amendment jurisprudence and the nature of our rights in general, where although inalienable, our rights are not absolute, and subject to reasonable restrictions by government, including the Second Amendment right.

Indeed, these extremists do more to jeopardize the rights enshrined in the Second Amendment than any gun control advocate might.
