Anti-Romney film.

If the 'investment' in the company is bait, and the investors do what Romney is purported to have done, it maybe fraud but it sure ain't moral. Since the R's claim to be the party of morality and traditional values, it seems a bit contradictory that so many would support such evil.

Watch the film offered in OP. I call what was done to the victims in the name of Capitalism and profit EVIL.

Always sort of amazing to me, that the same people who claim to be Christians are such defenders of greed.

Let's not forget, Jesus said -

"Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's" (or in modern palance- pay your taxes and stop whinging about it!)

"If a man asks for your coat, give him your shirt as well".

and

"It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a Rich man to enter the Kingdom of God".

It's not fraud no matter how much you want to Kangaroo Court capitalists.

Fail.

Nothing wrong with that. Make examples of a few people. The next guy will think twice.

I mean, sweet Evil Jesus, they prosecuted Ken Lay until he keeled over and died. And every company I've worked for has made sure they ain't ever gonna repeat that mistake.

Mob rule =/= justice. Thank God.

And if any of your companies were using offshore vehicles to game earnings numbers, well, they were worse than what you accuse Wall Street of.

It strikes me that if you invest in a company and you can't keep the doors open, you were committing a fraud by investing in it.

Of course Joey! You're so damn smart it's scary. YES! We should prosecute anyone that invests in a business that doesn't succeed. What a brilliant idea! Can you image how much capital will flow into the American economy with your plan? It's gonna be great!

Keep these wonderful ideas coming, they're priceless.

Yeah, because we are doing so well as a country doing it your way? Really?

Moron.

I'd love to go back to the 1960's where the wealthy were taxed, regulated and had to deal with working folks on an equal basis. We were awesome as a country back then.

Moron? An ad hominen attack from a socialist...shocking.

FYI, we didn't prosecute investors in the 60s whose capital was lost on a business venture...but hopefully soon!!!

If the 'investment' in the company is bait, and the investors do what Romney is purported to have done, it maybe fraud...

Then the other investors have a legitimate action against Bain. Has a lawsuit been filed? I honestly don't know.

Tell us, do you, like Joey, advocate for the idea that investors should be prosecuted for fraud if their investment fails to keep an operation up and running? Cuz that's just the best idea I've ever heard...you?

Lies by omission are still lies. Quote me in full or STFU.

The full quote is:

Actually, we did, Moron. We had teh Glass-Steagle act and strict regulations on bankers and investor and an SEC with real teeth.

Hell, Even Bush prosecuted the Enron Scumbags. Oooopsie. What, they were just innocent investors.

Hey, if you are producing jobs and increasing prosperity, I have no problem with you.

And nothing wrong with a little mob justice for these assholes. Why should just working folks live in fear? Most morality is based on fear, when you get right down to it.

Of course we did! When investments didn't pan out in the 60s, capitalists were sent to jail. You're so smart I just can't stand it.

Hey, let REALLY implement your idea...instead of prosecuting just the venture capitalists whose investments fail to keep an operation running, let's throw into jail anyone that buys a stock that doesn't appreciate. Of God this is going to be GREAT!

Morons like myself are just in awe at your brilliance. Thanks for sharing with us regular folks.

YOu mean when they laid off 358 workers at Marion IN, and then only rehired the younger ones without giving them benefits.

Romney Critic Resurfaces - ABC News

Or when they ran up 400 million in debt and then declared bankruptcy, leaving the investors with worthless paper.

Do you know who those investors were?

Bain Capital held one third of Ampad's shares when it tanked.

Yeah.

When Bain acquired Ampad in 1992 it had under $9 million of annual net sales. Four years later, it had over $200 million in annual net sales. But none of Bain's detractors ever mention that!

So Bain then took the company public.

This was a stationery manufacturer. Envelopes and note pads. Think about that. You see where this is going yet?

The reason it went bankrupt was the surge in overseas competition and the drop in demand. Any third world country can make stationery.

And look at the timing of Ampad's decline.

How often do you use an envelope or stationery since the invention of email and electronic bill paying? Have you noticed the US Postal Service is also suffering from the same effect?

D'oh!

Again, this is why I say the days of working in your dad's buggy whip factory are over. We need to be training our kids for the jobs of tomorrow, not the jobs of their grandfathers.
