yes....and the USA has been a prime example of that......different cultures have formed the American "melting pot".....

however today the liberals are promoting a form of "multiculturalism" that excuses immigrants from joining the American "melting pot"....

they think some foreign cultures are superior to the American culture.....that immigrants need not learn American ways, speak English, or even abide by American laws....
