Absolutely correct. I wasn't a tunnel rat as I was too young, and didn't make SEALs because my vision was 20/300 in one eye and 20/400 in the other. You've got to have no worse than 20/70 vision, correctable to 20/20 to be eligible.

But, I did get to be a member of various teams, at sea fire party, CBR warfare, PRP program, FA-18 weapons loading (even was allowed in the cockpit and was allowed to fly the dome simulators for FA-18s on occasion), Security Force at the War College, and forward deployed isolation duty (out of 2 years, spent 3 months in the States).

I was also fortunate enough to be part of some support teams for SEALs.

Nope, no regrets.

If GayBiker had been a SEAL, I'd be less inclined to dismiss him as a total ass. However, he joined the Navy just so he could travel. No love of country, no duty - just a cheap ass who wanted to travel on someone else's money.

I travel constantly - but I pay my own way and spend lots of time in any country I choose. I have great respect for all the military - but even great services like the Navy screw up occasionally.
