You don't mind letting the Middle East "destroy the environment" - you just don't want it done HERE. The motive is to become INDEPENDENT from the Middle East. I know -- "independent" is not a word you like. But tough! If you don't WANT to be independent from foreign oil or be independent period, there are several countries you could move to where your dreams would be realized. Get going.

To answer your question, of course I'd drink the water. Why not?

I would not, however, drink the water on a farm. We rented an old farm house years ago and I got the water well tested. I was told to stop using it immediately and that we had been bathing in the equivelent to water from an outhouse. We never did drink it because from day 1 we got bulk water in town. On a couple of occasions, we did make coffee with it when we ran out of fresh water. We got terrible headaches.
