The overwhelming majority of homicides are still intra-racial -- whites killing whites or blacks killing blacks. But these killings have fallen from 88 percent of all reported violent deaths in the 1980s to 83 percent from 2000 to 2009.

The rise in the percentage of interracial homicides has occurred while the total number of homicides has fallen dramatically in recent years.

Intra-racial killings have plummeted. White-on-white slayings tumbled from 63,704 deaths in the 1980s to 46,179 deaths in the 10-year period from 2000 to 2009. Black-on-black killings dropped from 56,931 to 41,457 deaths during the same periods.

Black-on-white killings grew from 8,503 to 8,530, while white-on-black slayings dropped from 4,745 to 4,380. Homicides involving all other racial combinations, including Asians and American Indians, rose from 3,854 to 4,981.

So, blacks kill twice as many whites and whites outnumber blacks by about 6:1. It looks like it's safe to assume that any one given black person is roughly 12 times as likely to kill a white than vice versa.

Unfortunately, the statistics posted by Yidnar are inaccurate, and posted with the intent of magnifying the problem.

Around 500 whites are killed annually by blacks. That's .002% of white people.

Trying to fan the flames of suburban white fears of black predators, when the likelihood of being killed by a black person is infinitessimally small, is racist.

Very true, but if the black community wants to rise up any time soon they need to start addressing their real ills.
(1) Black on Black violence. The prisons are FILLED with young black men. Again 93% of all black victims are killed by black hands! This is an issue the SO-CALLED black leaders don't want to address. Farahkan, Sharpton, Jackson and the Black KKK all want to say Whitey did it, but they most look inward first!
(2) Community lack of emphasis on education. This is an epidemic throughout the country. Privatization isn't the answer, but their better be some solutions FAST!
(3) One parent epidemic (This is an issue throughout American, but it's worse in the Black community - many single mothers are strong and hardworking people, but they can't be everyone at once. It's a tough job and salute them, but while they are working most of these kids are getting into trouble! No parental supervision leads to trouble!)
(4) The Welfare metality (There was a time in the 40s and 50s that Black families were making it on their own. Most of them worked and provided the bacon on their wages. That changed. Now far too many (many white families also) fall into the welfare trap where they accept free crumbs from the table instead of seeking a seat at the table). This is the new slavery coming from the liberal left.


They are getting passed up by what is becoming they "more politically" important minority group - Hispanics!!! Hispanics are increasing in population (they are already bigger). They are more likely to have a two parent household. Less of their adults are going to jail. More and more of them are becoming small business owners. People might knock Hispanics a bunch, but their work-ethic and sense of family is something for the other races to envy. I mean the reason farmers can pay $5K a years to Hispanics to work hard and long days in the field is because of this work ethic. Every see the bus boys at any restaurant you go in, the Hispanics are working hard at their minimum wage job!

Even now, but political parties IGNORE the Black community. Both GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THEM! They compete for the White and Lation vote. Both majorities go certain ways, but 40%+ is attainable by either party and that is what is need to win more state or national elections. Blacks vote 95% Democratic. The Dimocrats take it for granted and pander to other split groups and never throw a bone (other than inflaming race baiters) black voter and GOPers don't even fight for it, since they pick their battles other places! Blacks are getting marginalized. Heck you don't even have a senator now and less and less in the House!

I've seen the statistics Yidnar uses. I can't find confirmation, so yes, I guess he is cherry picking information to support his position. We all do the same.
AGW believers do it. AGW skeptics do it. Then each uses words like "denier", "fanatic" or "racist" to discredit the opposition.
The trick is to wade through the bullshit and extrapolate the truth.
