I try to point out the leaders and icons of the left wing liberal progressive ideology, to try to help show people what kind of evil that ideology can lead to. One of the most frightening, and also most covered-up, left wing policy secrets is that of heroes to the left, icons Karl Marx and George Bernard Shaw. Both admired one another, and believed in the idea of eugenics- the cleansing of a population of unwanted people. In fact, Shaw, left wing hero, proposed a humane gas be invented to humanely dispose of unwanted and surplus persons, and to play classical music during the process to comfort their exit. Marx was intruiged by this but wasn't quite as open to it. Of course, Hitler took that idea to the next level, and didn't particularly like the men, but liked their ideas.

So how does that relate to today? Because the idea of eugenics has never left the left wing (no pun). Many of their icons and leaders deep down still think it is a novel concept, and occassionally, they let it slip out, as liberal legend and icon Ruth Ginsberg accidentally did in a New York Times interview (see link).

So, she thought abortion would be a way to cleanse America of unwanted populations.

Hmmmm. Lets get right to the point. As a pillar of liberal progressive ideology, I want to analyze her thoughts to better understand the other side of the political spectrum, as to possibly find some way we can compromise and come together.

But to do that, I'll need some help. Left wingers, can you inform me of just which populations in America she wanted to cleanse us of? I know eugenics hasn't popped it's ugly head back up since about 1944, but seeing as the most left wing of the Supreme Court justices sees the need to cleanse the American population of "unwanted" persons, I figure we better start our attempt at compromise there.

They want to cleanse us of all of the old-timers. Anyone who can't be "re-educated".

This is why they rarely mentioned old folks in the healthcare debate...instead focusing on healthcare for children....except when it comes to rationing....something Obama's latest recess appointment believes strongly in or that healthcare is a good way to redistribute wealth.

Yes they have. I honestly think 90% of the people who consider themselves liberals, Democrats, left wingers, whatever, dont' believe in this stuff. They just don't truly know that they are identifying with. They are told that a vote for "D" means helping the poor, saving animals, etc, etc.

So I'm not going to assume all left wingers here want to cleanse America of unwanted persons. But.....I hope through research, they'll realize the folks they are voting in and supporting sometimes do. A filthy little secret of the left wing is eugenics. The National Socialist Party of Germany put that ideal into actual practice with horrific results. It is slowly dripping back into society through the cracks in the left wing.

They (the left wing voters) just don't see it though. They are blinded by "Hope and Change" and by being told they want to help the poor, save the planet, and gosh darn it, defeat those racist Republicans!!!!

If they read up on Rahm Emanuel's brother, who is advising them on the healthcare bill, and his views, they'd realize they are dealing with pure evil. Cleansing unwanted persons and letting the old timers die off. It is true evil disguised in a smiley face of compassion.

I didn't bring it up, it was merely a small segment of the historical background the author provided and many of the people from different walks of life who believed in it or practiced it.

I didn't take what she said to mean that abortion would be a way to cleanse America of unwanted populations,

rather that she thought abortion would be readily available to ALL women, and specifically, to poor women.

Even if it was FOCUSED on poor women, until there is some sort of number-of-children limit put upon families receiving MedicAid, I don't believe you could call it a Cleansing of Unwanted Populations.

Wanting the poor to have access to abortion seems like a logical thought, since poor folks can least afford unwanted pregnancy and all of the costs that an additional baby would entail, don't you think?

I think you believe that the left is far more unified in purpose and ideology than it is. Yes, there are democrats who are socialist. There are also democrats who strongly believe in the free enterprise system. There are advocates of right to life as well as well as women's right of choice. There is a lot of room in the Democratic party for different ideologies.

I have been been both a Republican and Democrat. I have noticed that the Left tends to be much more pragmatic on issues and less idealogical than the Right. There also seems to be a right, center, and left within the Democratic party. I have seen that to a much lessor extent with Republicans.

Most Democrats believe government should protect and serve the people which is major difference between the right and left.
