It is nothing more than Feel-good legislation designed tto cleave this nation's fundamentalist Christian voters to the Republican Party.

One thing the US government is most definitely NOT, is a nation UNDER GOD... not unless the GOD they're talking about is MAMMON.

If there is any one central theme of our society (and government...which I doubt, incidently), it is the elevation of MATERIALISM into a theological premise for how our society is structured.
