Thomas Harold Morgan, 47, who bills himself as “Sondance the Clown,” was arrested on charges of distributing, possessing, or viewing child porn. Through an online investigation, the Fort Smith Police Department’s computer forensic team was able to detect someone at a residence in the 500 block of S. 20th was downloading the images through a well-known, internet file-sharing network, according to police.

No. Some of the finest men in the universe were clowns. Emmett Kelly gave his services to the Shriner's in Houston who were raising money for a children's hospital. There may have been others, too.

Red Skelton's son died of leukemia, and Red became a giver to children's charities for the rest of his life. They say none was more generous than Red.

Jerry Lewis, famous comic, was chairman of the U.S. Muscular Dystrophy Association and hosted its annual Labor Day telethon for 40 years.

Bob Hope, another of America's funny men also thought of himself in the clowning profession, and he gave his entire life's worth of Christmas holidays to entertaining the U. S. Troops who were stationed abroad for over 50 years.

In our population 2% of the people across every economic strata and profession are going to be errant for life in one or several types of crimes. Criminals are human beings, and I don't think you can damn all of us because a small percent are bent on destruction.

It's silly to badmouth an entire profession because one or two are crooks. It's just how life is. By the same token, 5% of the population will go under the principle of "do all the good you can to all you can for as long as you can," and they spend their lives in service of one kind or another to others, with no thought for themselves.

It could be that because clowning has a meritorious assembly of human beings who compose its institution, that a criminal sees it as an opportunity to do his crime by its attraction to his target group.

Sorry, it has nothing to do with the good people that real clowns are.
