The 2010 health law requires large employers to offer health insurance to anyone working “full-time,” which the law defines as 30 hours a week.

In the interest of an informed debate, we've compiled a list of job actions with strong proof that ObamaCare's employer mandate is behind cuts to work hours or staffing levels.

As of September 5th, our ObamaCare scorecard included 450 employers with more than 100 school districts among them.

Recently, IBD explained that a big minimum wage hike alongside the employer mandate would add to pressure on employers to cut workers to part-time, complicating the goal of reducing inequality.

real Americans want to see healthcare go so they can pay for all the free social healthcare at taxpayer expense ... take you for instance ^^^^^^

Liberals repeatedly make the same mistake, thinking they can force something on the people, or punish the people into obeying, and the people will just stand there and take getting shit on. Instead the people react, in this case telling liberals to go fuck themselves and cut employee hours to part time. Corporations tell the liberals to go fuck themselves pack up and move to other countries.

All that liberals care about is the act of raising a tax or passing a law, the fall out from their actions which is frequently colossal failure doesn't matter to them.

Most of the doomsday predictions about labor market effects and employer-based coverage haven't happened.

Large-scale shifts toward part-time work haven't happened.

ObamaCare has not caused employers to shift workers into part-time work, according to a new study.

The study, released Tuesday in the journal Health Affairs, examines the claim made by critics of the law that employers will make more people work part-time in order to avoid having to give them health insurance.
However, the study, which looks at data from the Current Population Survey, does not find evidence to support suggestions the law would have such an effect.

The authors write that their study finds “no evidence consistent with the thesis that the ACA caused an overall increase in part-time employment in the United States.”

The probability of working 25-29 hours a week has stayed essentially flat over the last few years, even after the employer mandate went into effect in 2015. The probability of working 30-34 hours also did not decrease.

It hasn't led to low-wage workers withholding their labor.
According to the study, there was fear that to qualify for Medicaid, workers may decrease work effort by cutting back hours. By reducing hours, such workers would receive wages low enough to qualify for Medicaid.

That change, the researchers said, has not materialized.
"Estimates of the effect of Medicaid on labor supply were, in general, relatively small and not statistically significant," the study said. "In fact, most estimates of the effect of the Medicaid expansions on labor supply were positive. Overall, there was very little evidence that the Medicaid expansions decreased work effort."

And employer-based coverage hasn't deteriorated.
  • Employer-sponsored insurance coverage, offer, and take-up rates remained unchanged among nonelderly workers from June 2013 through March 2015.
  • Coverage, offer, and take-up rates were stable for workers in both small and large firms as well as for workers with higher and lower incomes.
  • Employer-sponsored insurance coverage also remained unchanged among all nonelderly adults from June 2013 through March 2015.

That said, it's unlikely that reality has or will pierce the bubble. Carry on.

Post number one says it has.

Post number four says it hasn't.

What are we to do ?

I am standing by the surveys described below and the anecdotal stories.

BEFORE the recession, Richard Clark’s cleaning company in Florida had 200 employees, about half of them working full time.
These days it has about 150, with 80% part-time. The downturn explains some of this.
But Mr Clark also blames Barack Obama’s health reform...

Mr Clark says he is "very careful with the threshold". To keep his full-time workforce below the magic number of 50, he is relying more on part-timers. He is not alone. More than one in ten firms surveyed by Mercer, a consultancy--and one in five retail and hospitality companies--say they will cut workers’ hours because of Obamacare. A hundred part-timers can flip as many burgers as 50 full-timers, and the former will soon be much cheaper.
Here's What Economists Are Saying About The Claim That Obamacare Is Causing More Jobs To Be Part Time

Liberals repeatedly make the same mistake, thinking they can force something on the people, or punish the people into obeying, and the people will just stand there and take getting shit on. Liberals are famous for unintended consequences.

Rocky and his pet human, Sun Devil, watching Animal Planet before Sun Devil gets put to bed and Rocky watches the SOTU. What? This post is no more silly than what the far right reactionaries are posting.

It's not liberals, it's the far left and their sissy counterparts.

It's all, essentially, a replacement for slavery.

In many ways you are correct.

With the advent of yet another government program, we have a significant portion of the populace who becomes more dependent upon the government.

It is difficult to imagine breaking away from the "mother ship" when she is providing so much.

And it's not just government entitlements I'm referring to. Its the way the entire system is used to keep laborers and soldiers compliant and obedient. The education system that steers us into lives of perpetual debt. The media and government prodding every insecurity, all to keep us spinning the hamster wheel of the war machine.

^And yet the first thing you want to get rid of is the PPACA.
*Yep.

Because Obama. You'll get around to the wars and education and all that other stuff someday. Curious that you don't feel "forced" about paying taxes for those things.

Blow me. Again, you're making completely unwarranted assumptions. I've done more to fight against those things then shills like you would dream of doing. Far more than I've done against ACA.

Since the authority to wage war and build a military are in the Constitution, it isn't called being forced. It's called following the Constitution. Now, when someone gets handed a subsidy in order that they can afford something they couldn't without it and the Constitution says nothing of it, that's force.

So if your candidate fails to overturn the PPACA, he can always bomb Iran to distract you.

Since your boy President fucked up insurance with Obamacare, I guess he needed to pander to the fags to distract you.
