Fascism is a radical authoritarian nationalist political ideology. Does that not describe the GOP? Where its individuals are united together as one people in national identity by connections of ancestry, culture, and blood. Sound familiar? Righties hate muslims and Mexicans, right? Those programs were ditched as soon as possible while big bucks are funneled to the corporate interests AWAY from actual science. Government has no part to play in the marketplace or in picking the winners and losers. They have a clear role in advancing science. The latter is completely lost when the former gets the attention. Companies do not like change. Change means inconsistent profits.

hmmm, like the earth is the only place with resources. One small Asteroid is estimated to be worth at least a trillions of dollars. How the hell do you think we're going to keep expanding our economy to make enough wealth to raise all of humanity out of the crapper? We do it by growing the economy, but on this one planet we may not be able to. Then maybe, just maybe we can afford to fully medicate and feed the whole damn world.
