Pure conjecture and you know it.

If Obama had nothing to do with it and Republicans did, why are the job numbers better in 08 and 09?

Maybe it is due to "economic momentum" and the time needed for the new policies to take effect.

Remember, your graph shows job losses during the Bush Presientcy with the peak during the transition, and then growth after some time. The growth is attributed to Obama, the Decline to its peak is directly attributed to Bush. The time between is due to transition job losses should be attributed to Bush as well.

At least that is how I read events.

DETROIT (CNNMoney) -- General Motors is poised to once again be No. 1 in global auto sales, after three years out of the top spot.

It's a comeback that will be official when final 2011 sales figures are reported in the coming weeks.

Recapturing the top spot seemed unthinkable in 2008 when GM lost the title. At the time, the company was in a tailspin. Its very future was uncertain, and a bankruptcy filing and federal bailout loomed.

And let's not forget the fine help that the Obama administration and unions gave GM by demonizing their biggest competitor.

American consumers are buying cars at a brisk pace in January, continuing sales growth that began late last year, according to two industry executives.

Mark Reuss, General Motors Co.'s North American president, said Tuesday that rising sales seen by GM and the U.S. industry are continuing through the first 10 days of the month.

"I think we're off to a good start. I think the industry is off to a good start," Reuss said at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

GM's U.S. sales rose 13 percent last year, even faster than the industry as a whole, which saw sales climb 10 percent to 12.8 million vehicles. Sales could rise by another million this year, analysts say.

Romney said the GM bail out "would never work."

The Dems are already playing that in tv ads in Michigan.

As well they should.

They can also play the clips from the 2008 campaign where he promised to do "anything" to save the auto industry.

Not to mention the clips from today when he was trying to compare the butchery of Bain to Obama closing dealerships and plants in the reorganization of GM>
