Yes, it's been bad, but luckily there is a real-world test of how Republican policies would fare:

We can no more afford to elect Romney-Ryan than Britain in 2010 could afford electing right-wing government of Cameron-Osborne.

5 million people quit looking for work and elected 'gummint' handouts instead. This is all according to Barry's plan, the one that he laid out at Loyola University in 1998, ie Those folks receiving welfare or any other forms of government largesse, along with the working poor constitute a critical mass, which, if properly manipulated could result in electing Communists to power and maintaining them there for some considerable time. These five mil don't contribute squat to GDP. They just take.
The country's already had an example of Obamanomics during the FDR Presidency where Roosevelts policies deepened the depth of and extended the length of the Great Depression to an enormous twelve years. Both Roosevelt and Obama promised deliberate destruction to the American economy. The promise to destroy just depended on the words used. Roosevelt, the pre eminent class warrior of his age, seizing upon the publics anger at business and the wealthy for allegedly causing the Depression told the voters he wouldn't rest from smashing individual businesses or entire industries until the economy recovered. Business simply just retracted their heads inside their shells like turtles to wait Roosevelt out before taking any risks. The economy eventually recovered-after Roosevelt died. The same thing is happening in the face of Mr Obama's promise to "Fundamentally Transform" America.

Comparing the US to the UK is apples and oranges.

Only an idiot would think that's a fair and/or accurate comparison.

Seriously? You think people would choose to survive on tiny unemployment benefits over having a job that pays 3 times more? If you do, you must really crazy or stupid.
