Another Liberal Myth Exploded

Simple solution, add a fee to all products moved to a foreign from our soil and then imported to the US in order to save labor costs...

Let me get this right. You think products are moved from our soil and shipped to foreign countries just so they can be imported to the US and that all that saves labor costs?
I need to know what you are smoking and where I can get some.

Then, provide incentives to domestic companies who chose to hire American workers and produce products like shoes, clothing, appliances and electronics, paying a fair wage and health insurance as required by the PPACA.

I admit the gaps, but reading the post one should be able to infer I was speaking to products once produced in our country and now moved to a foreign country to increase the profits of those who do not labor at the expense of those who do.

Then please explain in what way it does. In he 60s CEOs made 40X the average worker. Now they obviously make far more than that. Nothing in the OP changes that. There is no reason they should make so much now to do the same job.

What business is it of yours what other people make? Worry about what you make, not what other people make. In fact it is not anything more than greed and envy that gets you pissed that other people make more than you do. It is pathetic to hear your wining about "no reason".. You don't get to establish the reason for compensation, the Board of Directors do. Get yourself on the BODs if you want to change it instead of whining about it.

The salaries of the CEO that you envy so much is paid for out of the sales of goods and services of the corporation. If you know of a CEO that makes so much that it pisses you off then simply don't buy any goods or services from the company then you don't contribute to the salaries. It is as simple as that.

You are a hypocrite when it comes to things like this. For instance, I don't see you bitching about Bill Clinton getting $500K for a one hour speech, even knowing that it has been revealed that he gets that much money because Hillary put pressure on foreign governments.

I don't see you getting pissed at the Kennedy's for being rich with bootleg money or condemning Kerry for getting rich marrying the filthy rich ugly broad.

However, the Obama administrationrecently projected an annual deficit of $750 billion in the fiscal year that began Oct. 1, and $626 billion the year after. At that rate, the debt owed to the public will more than double during the Obama presidency.

As of 2012, according to the most recent figures reported by the Census Bureau, median (midpoint) income for all U.S. households was $51,017, which was 4.9 percent lower (in inflation-adjusted dollars) than it was in 2008, the year before Obama took office.

The same story applies to family income, which includes many families with two earners. (The “household” figure includes single persons living alone, as well as families.) Median family income in 2012 was $62,241, or 5.1 percent below the inflation-adjusted 2008 level.

The number of persons living in poverty also worsened again in 2012, according to the most recent Census figures.

8. As of last year, 46,496,000 persons lived in households with income below the official poverty line, an increase of nearly 6.7 million since 2008 and 249,000 since 2011. The total poverty rate remained unchanged in 2012 at 15 percent of the total U.S. population. So for the second straight year, the poverty rate was 1.8 points higher than it was in 2008.

For edification:

26 January 2014

Dear Editor:

John Cassidy concludes his musings on the finding that income mobility in America hasn't changed in recent decades with a warning: "Finally, the new study doesn't mean that the effects of inequality aren't more serious than they used to be. With inequality rising, particularly at the top, the rewards for clambering up the income distribution are greater, and so are the costs of getting stuck at the bottom" ("Social Mobility Hasn't Fallen; What It Means and Doesn't Mean," Jan. 23). This warning is confusing.

If rising inequality does indeed mean that "the rewards for clambering up the income distribution are greater," then we should expect more such clambering. In a market economy that means more work, more saving, more investing, more innovation. The results of this clambering might not yet appear in the data, but it's strange that Mr. Cassidy thinks that the higher rewards for "clambering up the income distribution" are necessarily a problem.

Also, why does rising income inequality mean that the "costs of getting stuck at the bottom" are greater? Unless Mr. Cassidy assumes that Jones gets richer only by making Smith poorer (and surely no modern economics pundit would commit such a primitive error), why does Mr. Cassidy dismiss even the possibility that individuals'absolute incomes can rise even if their relative incomes do not?

Sincerely,
Donald J. Boudreaux

Actually, it does.

And the fact is, the entire "argument" is premised on the wealth-envy communist socialist bullshit belief system lends no credence to the entire "discussion" perpetrated by Soros and his OWS cadre.

Then please explain in what way it does. In he 60s CEOs made 40X the average worker. Now they obviously make far more than that. Nothing in the OP changes that. There is no reason they should make so much now to do the same job.

Who gives a fuck?

They earn more because what they do is worth more.

If you work at Macy's Department store stocking shelves and I run Macy's national advertising division, why shouldn't I make an assload more than you?

And why should your jealousy govern this discussion or wage laws?

Why shouldn't doctors earn a shit load more than that stock clerks or employees at McDonalds?

How the FUCK is what they earn ANY of your fucking business?

The problem with your position is: I reject your completely baseless & irrational premise. I don't give a rat's ass that some corporate honchos make more than I do -- and I REALLY don't care that they make more than YOU do.

You should care. Too much inequality slows the economy, that is bad for the country.

You are a fool if you think companies can't find just as good of people to work for much less. It's a rigged game obviously.

Again in the 60s they made 40X the average worker. There is no reason they should now be making so much to do the same job.

Cue the cricket sound
To the Obama sycophant, all this bad economic news is just noise...and racist too.

Facts don't matter.

This crap about "disparity of income and wealth" is nothing more than repackaging the old failed commie bullshit of "workers of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your chains".

It gives the Libtards something to bitch about. The idea of hating somebody with money appeals to the greed and envy of the Liberals.

Nobody in this country is poorer because somebody else is richer.

The thing that is bad about that hate is you first start out taking money from the billionaires, then the millionaires and then saying that it is wrong for some to make $75K a year when somebody else is only making $30K a year. Greed is a terrible thing.

Yeah, not like wages have been stagnant and more and more wealth goes to the top while productivity is at a massive high point..

Blame Obama for not stimulating capitalism enough. That is what makes everybody richer. Also flooding the country with low wage illegals hasn't helped much either.

Productivity improvements have come about because of technology, not labor.

Don't worry about the money that other people make. Worry about your own. If you don't make enough money then work harder or smarter. Bitching on the internet all day long about how much money other people make won't earn you one red cent.

The OP does nothing to prove it's not true. CEO pay is going through the roof. That is a fact. In the 60s a CEO made 40X the average worker. Just look at what they make now.

The total poverty rate remained unchanged in 2012 at 15 percent of the total U.S. population. So for the second straight year, the poverty rate was 1.8 points higher than it was in 2008.

I don't smoke, only fools and those on a death trip smoke. I wrote this:

"Simple solution, add a fee to all products (should have been production) moved to a foreign (country, should have been added) from our soil and then imported to the US in order to save labor costs, in the amount equal to what a consumer would pay for a product made in America.

Now, what solution do you have to keep American jobs in America?

Indeed. Socialism is a race to the bottom. The lowest common denominator. We are all equal ... equally destitute. No one can be stronger, faster, smarter or, most importantly, richer.

The sad thing is that the history of socialism in the world is either a story of stagnation, mediocrity or failure. The historically more capitalist US has always had a stronger economy than the mostly stagnant, low growth, high unemployment European socialistic democracies and we have seen what has happen to the Soviet Union and the eastern block countries. The hard core socialists countries like Cuba, Venezuela and North Korea are disasters. China is doing better because it is adopting capitalistic markets.

With the historical and world wide failures of socialism why these idiots in the US think that it will somehow work here in the US is absolutely beyond comprehension. Just turning a little more socialistic with Obama has had really bad consequences for this country as PolitcalChick listed above.
