Al Dameer Calls Upon the Two Palestinian Governments in Gaza and Ramallah to Take Prompt Action to Solve the Problems of the Electricity Cuts and Lack of Fuel In Gaza :clap2:
The Gaza power plant stopped working for the third time on Sunday, 25 March 2012, as the fuel required for its operation ran out completely, which has caused long periods of outages throughout the Gaza Strip. Until the issuance of this press release, there is no supply of industrial fuel brought to a halt the operation of the only electrical power plant in Gaza.

This crisis was doubled by the lack of fuel in the market, which has deepened the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Electricity cuts and lack of fuel have serious impacts on human rights and basic service sectors in Gaza. Stoppages affect medical services and difficulty in transportation. . Moreover, Electricity cuts and lack of fuel also affect the environmental, educational, commercial, and economical sectors. Additionally, a number of traders monopolized the fuel and sold them in the black market.

The two Palestinian governments in Gaza and Ramallah should immediately look for strategic solutions for ending the ongoing power crisis which has been affecting the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian civilians only bear the brunt of the failure of the parties responsible for this crisis.

Al Dameer calls upon the Gaza Government to work immediately with all in order to develop plans that contribute in finding temporary solutions for this continual crisis until achieving the final solution. It should be taken into consideration, the economical and social conditions of Gaza Population before developing these plans.

Al Dameer sees that current crisis is in an urgent need of the presumption of good faith by all. Also, Al Dameer assures on the need to stop the conflicting statements and the need to disclose information on negations about the development of this crisis in Egypt by the two Palestinian governments in Gaza and Ramallah
