A man was shot in the leg as armed police swarmed North Liverpool in two separate incidents tonight.

Officers were called to reports of shots being fired on Maryport Close on the Grizedale estate in Everton just hours before a 20-year-old man was injured in a shooting on Stanley Road in Kirkdale.
