Another AIG Resort "Junket": Top Execs Caught on Tape

Which was who? Ron Paul? That guy's a joke.

Ron Paul wasn't running, I was speaking about the Libertarian Party candidate Bob Barr. As far as Ron Paul being a joke, apparently the jokes going to be on all of America.

It will be if we don't bailout more companies. Starbucks' profit dropped 97%. Without caffeine to energize the American workforce, how are we going to be productive?

I was talking about when our economy collapses, but spin it however you like.

I'm not opposed to a bailout for AIG with restrictions attached - but uh, this is just a blank check. This is just idiotic policy. I want the auto companies bailed out, but i don't want them to have a blank check. wtf is wrong with this administration??

Don't forget who controls the purse strings.

Wouldn't want your bias to show. :eusa_whistle:

and mccain suspended his campaign to go work on the bailout. didnt you vote for mccain?

Nope. Why in the heck would I vote for McCain if I didn't vote for Obama? They're two sides of the same coin. Seriously, do you really believe this bail-out bill was a good idea?

Both of the candidates voted for the bailout bill. We didn't have much of a choice. Either vote for the guy that voted for the bill or vote for the guy that voted for the bill.

You had a choice and you messed up. Most of America messed up and now freedom-loving Americans like myself have to pay for your ignorance.

OH MY, what ever would we do without a starbucks

this shit is TOO funny

Um. Note to xsited1: Obama won the vote by more than just 1 vote. He won the vote by over 10 million votes.

Actually he didn't when you consider the battleground states. Less than a million if I recall.

You need to get your big boy pants on and do your own figuring.

I am saying that McCain only needed about 900k to tip the battleground states back to his favor. I realize that the popular vote was several million, but as you know, it doesn't mean squat to win an election.

did i say it was? my point, which was obvious in my statement was that the major candidates voted for it. so bashing people for voting obama when the alternative would have been guilty of the exact same thing is stupid

I think you missed the point. Obama and McCain weren't the only ones running.

I have emailed the TV station in Phoenix and asked for them to air another segment listing all the AIG 'brands' that they do business under. So far They have not done it, but that isn't a surprise as they report news, not try to actually provide information that would allow consumers to make informed choices.
While I realize that publishing this list would be counter-productive to the money spent to bail out AIG, it would be effective in setting an example to other businesses.
If everyone knew the names under which AIG did business, perhaps they would chose other companies to do business with, I would. In my opinion, this is the only way to force the executives of this company, and others in the future, to take responsibility for their actions. The fact they are still operating according to the status-quo is a demonstration that they are not taking any responsibility, and are not worried in the least about angering their consumer base. In addition, they are demonstrating that they have no regard for the taxpayers who provided the funds to allow them to operate in the manner in which they have and still do operate.
If the list of 'brand names' under which they market to consumers was made available to the public at large, then consumers could make informed choices as to who they are doing business with. Most folks are not going to look too hard to find this information on their own, but if it was made to be more public knowledge, may chose not to do business with them.
That would appear to be the only way to force AIG and other large companies to make much needed changes. The only language they understand is bottom line profit. Allowing them to hide behind 'brand' names, allows them to continue to profit from the taxpayers as well as their consumers, while at the same time showing a complete and utter disrespect for both.

Just wanted to add, in a separate message that the list of 'brand names' from AIG's own web site is included here.
Sadly, more research is needed to find other names under which a company this large markets it's services.
