It's not their salaries, they are not worth speaking of in the sense that by definition these folks are maintaining 2 homes. What is relatively new is becoming rich while in office, not after. They are by no means getting rich off their salaries.Poor ol' Reid. I feel sorry for him having to eke by on that taxpayer funded $193,400 a year salary. It must be rough.
I would compensate them with room & board, and a limited expense account, no salary, no retirement. Time to make being a government employee a privilege, not an elite position. Remove the money & we should start seeing common Americans holding offices.
