Cuomo has said the so-called insurgent progressive wave in his party is “not even a ripple”, arguing that it’s pragmatists like him who can get things done who are the true progressives.

Why won’t New Yorkers elect a Female Governor, are they a bunch of backwards hicks or something?
Texas has had two Lady Governors, but "progressive" New York has had none.

What is going on inside of the Democratic Party is a generational and racial shift. The old white Left Wingers are going to replaced by younger more minority and even futher left radicals. This is just the beginning. Eventually the white voters will be the minority in the Democratic Party.

The whole country is moving left. The Repubs today are left of where the Dems were during the Reagan years. In this country today "right" only refers to a couple social issues, there is no fiscally "right" party.
