Any employer that does pay for workers comp insurance turns that claim over to their insurance company whoever that may be. That insurance company then is fully in charge of supposedly taking care of the employee that was hurt. The insurance company can then slime their way out of covering the employee by whatever means they choose. It is up to these heartless bastards to choose your care if you are the injured employee you are screwed if they don't. If they deny an injured employee adequate medical treatment the employee can be basically screwed. If you are the injured employee that insurance company does not pay the obligation on behalf of the employer you must hire an attorney. So an employee must give an attorney 33% or more of what that employee is entitled to by law. Can you pictured being so sick you cannot stay awake for more than twenty minutes at a time and then you have to go to some insurance company doctor that will deny you proper medical treatment? I can as I was that sick for months. Not only that it was winter. The insurance company sent one check two and a half months later and then got all pissy because you are left with no choice but to hire an attorney hoping you will get proper medical treatment. The employer refused to let me go back to work. Petsmart even sent a letter to me docking my pay which is supposed to be illegal, again supposed to be. They were fined over three thousand dollars by OSHA for safety violations. They jacked the OSHA guy around when he demanded a safety data sheet so we could even get proper treatment for me. You really have no clue Si as to what some employees must go through when they are injured by their employer or at their employers work site. TRAVELERS INSURANCE and their insure PATSMART both SUCK! They are a slimy insurance company and a slimy corporate employer. As much as I do not like the majority of what Contessa's posts, I'm with them on exposing abusive corporates.

Sounds to me that Travelers was her employers insurance company for all those things. Businesses buy insurance to protect them from cases just like this. And in many states, workman's comp is purchased privately through insurance companies. So, it is most likely that Travelers was responsible in this case. But as usual, everyone wants to pass the buck.
