whoever wins it will have a positive effect on the economy simply because the market dislikes uncertainty. it will have absolutely nothing to do with who is elected.

Good point. Capitalism is a very adaptable system.

Once it knows the rules, once it can reasonably predict how laws and policies are going to go down, it will find a way to do business in that environment.
