Obama: Eurozone 'must focus on jobs and growth'

President Obama: "All the leaders here today agreed growth and jobs must be our top priority"

US President Barack Obama has said there is an "emerging consensus" that European countries must now focus on jobs and growth.

Speaking after the G8 summit of some of the world's leading economies, he said the US is confident that Europe can meet its challenges.

President Obama said leaders had made good progress on a range of issues.

In addition the eurozone crisis, they discussed Iran, Afghanistan and global energy supply.

The leaders of France, Germany, the US, the UK, Italy, Japan, Canada and Russia met at Camp David in the US state of Maryland.

Obama said the meeting had been a success In an earlier communique, G8 leaders committed themselves to promoting growth alongside fiscal responsibility and affirmed that they wanted Greece to stay in the eurozone.

The BBC's Paul Adams at Camp David says both that communique and Mr Obama's speech showed the US and French position had won out over Germany and Britain's pro-austerity stance.

Thank god- enough austerity only- Pubs suq...

Yea, like his ideas are so good and he's the best at creating jobs and growing economies. They'll probably laugh at him when they return to their rooms.

BTW, when is Barry going to focus on jobs and the economy in America??

There is a reason your threads sink so fast.

Nobody really cares what you say.

You are a liar and a racist.

If the GOP is the worst party and kicked you ass in 2010, then what does that say about you losers ?

Talk is cheap. Even the French must recognize that fact. JFK visited Berlin after the atrocity of the Berlin Wall and called himself a jelly donut in German and told the people "I am a Berliner" and then he went home and left them to be prisoners of the Russians. French WW1 hero turned Nazi collaborator Marshal Henri Patain made an excuse for his failure to defend France "Our spirit of enjoyment was stronger than our spirit of sacrifice." We tried to spare effort and met disaster". How true even today.

The French lost to a bunch of fanatics with a new strategy- so did everyone else.. Petain was an a-hole LOL.

Many thanks to Pub a-holes for screwing Versailles, the League, the world's finances (leading to militarists in Japan and Germany), letting them run wild- would have let them waltz into DC if not for Pearl Harbor...myopic greedy morons forever.

    You're full of s***.

If we hadn't gotten into it, there is a good chance Hilter would have spent more time fighting with Russia. If that had been the case, there might not have been an Iron Curtain.

Chalk one up to FDR for being such a jerk-wad (again).
