Thinking of old Outer Limits and Twilight Zone episodes, a lot of good ideas were depicted. Like in post-apocalyptic worlds producing energy locally, for local use, and not so much energy that you're selling most of it or otherwise exporting it.

That's something to consider. If much of the energy produced is for export, sacrificing the local area it's being produced in with pollution, why not just mandate all energy production must be for local use. That'd reduce emissions and make local areas responsible for their own energy needs and usage. Why pollute the enviroment producing more energy than you actualy need just to sell it?

Eventually, there's going to come a reckoning when draconian measures will have to be implmented if we're to survive. We need to de-emphasize profits and emphasize sustainability and enviromental impact neutrality. Produce energy by whatever means you can, but just enough for your own local needs. Not for exporting and making profit at the expense of your own enviroment.

Sci-fi can be cool, but then there's L.Ron Hubbard and the Scientologists! :ack-1:
