Anal Sex Study Is Anal Sex the New Oral Sex

"According to a new study published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, one in five women between the ages of 20 and 39 had anal sex in 2010, and 46 percent have tried it at least once, compared with just 33 percent in 1992.

Once thought taboo, anal sex is now more mainstream than ever. So are more women having anal sex these days, or are they just more comfortable admitting that they do?

"Men and women have always enjoyed having anal sex, so we're not sure why there's been a sudden increase," says Debby Herbenick, Ph.D. "But it might have something to do with the Internet, which was in its infancy the last time a survey of this magnitude was conducted." Today, people can anonymously surf the Web for how-to guides, order anal-sex toys online, and access a slew of anal-centric porn sites from the privacy of their own homes."

To some, oral sex isn't sex (including a certain former US President.) And thinking of how in Japan they censor the penis and vagina in porn, but not the anus (presumedly since it isn't a sex organ per se') I can see the arguement that anal sex isn't sex (and thus, in Japan at least, not anything needing to be censored.) Here in the US, I know to some in the purity movement oral and anal sex doesn't compromise your virginity either. Though to that I'd argue ask your future spouse if you're having oral and anal sex with people prior to marriage kept you a virgin. I'm thinking not. :)

Here's one theory: With the explosion of homosexual issues in the prevailing culture, more women are receptive to the idea that there might be something pleasurable in being the "bugg-ee," so to speak. Among heterosexuals, the presumption has always been that a short session of anal was entirely for the benefit of the man.

Also, with the proliferation of internet porn, more women are exposed to anal as part of a "complete" sexual episode.

The females are less inhibited than many here, like 57Frank, believe. Who do you think has been/ are buying the 50 shades book in droves?

My wife, for one
she bought that book? Not surprising as females, trying not to be TOO stereotypical here ;) , act in a herd like mentality. Again, female talk, when they think they are alone, would make a seasoned, well-traveled, sailor such as myself, blush if I overheard them. Thats a good thing. Means, all you have to do is ask.

May I ask a question? Why are 99% of your threads hung up on weird sex stuff? You don't have porno sites to hang out it?

You ask religious questions, and as I interpreted.....you post statements in a pro, and moderate fashion about the bible.....and then you mention something as gross and sickening as anal sex....ON AN open board.

Have you flipped your lid or something. Are you starting threads just for attention and to talk?

Of my 18k+ posts, I'd be surprised if even 5% were sex-related. Perhaps the problem lies with the user if they think 99% of a majority or even a lot of a person's posts are about sex. If that's so, then maybe ANY sex discussion is too much and consequently it's your problem.

By the way, it's not like I camoflague my sex threads. If you didn't like it ya shouldn't have clicked on and read it huh? If ya did, you gave away any right to complain.
