The remaining candidates can best be described as follows

1. A craggy old socialist warrior from the 1960s and 70s, who has been completely unable to learn from the failures of socialism of the past.

2. A dynastic, crony, corrupt, possibly criminal insider spouse of a former President, who has gotten rich because of her status in government

3. A thin-skinned, inexperienced, race-baiting, tribal, authoritarian, populist demagogue

Is this Argentina? The Philippines? Or the United States?

Welcome to the duopoly, a cartel whose monopolistic control of political power has resulted in providing a choice between complete SHIT and total SHIT. This is what you get when the citizenry has become ignorant, apathetic, tribalistic and so misinformed that they cannot choose their own leaders without having a letter behind the candidates names to tell them which one they should vote for.

The "American Experiment" has clearly been a failure.

"I don't think we should be governing ourselves. What we need is a king, and every now and then if the king’s not doing a good job, we kill him." -- George Carlin

That's right! We need the Son of a former Prime Minister (President)
To lead us.

No Nepotism there.

The Republicans got shafted by the celebrity affect from Trump, and then shafted themselves with their inability to deal with it early enough, and effectively enough.

As for the Dems, for the party of youth, they seem to have decided "the kids are not all right".

Trump is not Race Baiting, nor has he demonstrated any Authoritarian tendencies.

But other than that, your point is valid.

Trump's celebrity got him his first hearing.

HIs "radical policies" of deporting illegals and bring back jobs, is what really caused his rise.

If he had opened up with the warmed up crap that the Party Hacks were putting out there, he would not have won.

maybe, but I think it goes past those two issues. People are tired of hearing from "their betters", and Trump tapped into that.

This is the choice of the people. We had the chance to elect rational people like Walker or Webb but we opted for reality show, Jerry Springer candidates.
It shows you just how far the intellectual capacity of our once great nation has fallen.
